With regard to use of nanotechnology for devising health care gadgets for personnel who fought wars and those guarding borders at higher altitudes, he said that a separate group of scientists in the DRDO was on the job.
Some of the gadgets using nanotechnology were under clinical trial.
On the DRDO's tie-ups with educational institutions, he said Centres of Excellence in Material Sciences, Life Sciences and Chemical Sciences were being established in institutions.
The DRDO had entrusted nearly 3,000 projects with 300 institutions across the country.
