  • ·         In Rajasthan, as the in-service Doctor’s strike continue to its 4th day, the Army, BSF and Railway Doctors have begun assisting the senior doctors in government hospitals in order to maintain health services.
  • ·         The National Human Rights Commission taking suo motu cognizance of a media report has issued a notice to the Madhya Pradesh Government on alleged illegal drug trials on mentally ill patients in Indore.
  • ·         In Assam, National Rural Health Mission in association with UNICEF has taken the initiative to treat Children with Severe Acute Malnutrition at the Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre , a facility based centre to treat under 5 years of Severe Acute Malnutrition children (a life threatening condition). The Anganwadi Workers have been engaged to identify severely acute malnourished children under ICDS project.
  • ·         The High Powered Steering Committee for National Projects constituted by the Ministry of Water Resources has cleared a 3,000 crore rupees package for two irrigation projects in Uttar Pradesh. It includes the Sarayu Nahar Pariyojana and Restoring the capacity of Sharda Sahayak Project in the state. The project is scheduled to be completed by March 2016. 
  • ·         The Cold wave continues to sweep North India. Delhites today woke up at a low of 3.3oC, 5 degree below normal. In the past decade, the lowest minimum for the month was recorded on December 12, 2005 when the mercury recorded 3.3oC and for the century it was 1.1oC on 26th Dec, 1945.
  • ·         25th National Consumer day has been celebrated today to create awareness among consumers about their rights. The President said that the Consumer Protection Act is a unique legislation aimed at speedy and simple redressal of consumer disputes delivering socio-economic justice.
  • ·         Christmas celebrations begin in Bethlehem, the birth place of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem. The Israeli Ministry of Tourism said an estimated 90,000 pilgrims are expected to visit the Holy Land for the festival. The Palestinian security takes over once it crosses through an iron gate in the Israeli-built separation wall that divides the Palestinian-controlled Bethlehem from Israeli-controlled Jerusalem.
  • ·         The Arab League advance team of Observers in Syria (part of Arab spring) is scheduled to meet the Syrian Foreign Minster to expressed regret at the yesterday’s blast incident and called upon the people to maintain peace and calm. They will monitor the ground situation in Syria and the implementation of League mediated peace deal to end violence in the country.
