Controversial film Dam 999 , banned in Tamil Nadu, has made it to the list of 265 films that are eligible for Best Picture Oscar at the 2011 Academy Awards.
In addition, three songs from the film are among the 39 tracks selected for the Academy's Original Songs category.
The songs selected from the movie are Dam 999 - theme song , Dakkanga Dugu Dugu and Mujhe Chodke , penned by director Sohan and composed by Ousephachan, a well known name in Malayalam cinema.
Ousephachan has also given music in Bollywood films like Aakrosh and Khatta Meetha. He won a national award for Malayalam film Ore Kadal

Mahindra Satyam has announced the launch of Workspace-as-a-Service (WaaS) solution giving customers an opportunity to embark on virtual desktop computing.
It provides services like on demand application delivery, automated workflow based provisioning and usage-based metering and charge back in addition to giving freedom to customers to choose their workspace from a service catalogue.
- WaaS allows flexibility of dedicated, pooled and shared virtual desktops or applications that can be accessed from anywhere, any time using any device.

In computing, a virtual desktop is a term used with respect to user interfaces to describe ways in which the size of a computer's desktop environment is expanded beyond the physical limits of the screen's real estate through the use of software, This saves space in the desktop area.
Switchable desktops (one of the virtual desktop technique) were introduced to a much larger audience in 1989.
Other kinds of virtual desktop environments do not offer discrete virtual screens, but instead make it possible to pan around a desktop that is larger than the available hardware is capable of displaying. This facility is sometimes referred to as panning, scrolling desktops or viewport.
